Olde English Bulldogges live longer, breath better, and have fewer problems with skin issues. These dogs were used very selectively in various combinations to obtain the desired physical and mental traits of the original Olde English Bulldogge. The result has been a good looking Bulldog of great athletic ability, that is much healthier and physically fit without most or all of the health problems that plague the modern English Bulldogs. They are over all healthier then the English Bulldog. Why are they healthier? The original bulldog breed was very similar to the Olde English Bulldogge today. They were originally bred to be athletic strong dogs. But sometime later the breed was crossed with the short nosed small dogs and became the English Bulldog that we know today. Crossing the original breed, resulted with restricting their ability to breath. Restricting their ability to breed and whelp naturally. The goal of all Olde English Bulldogge breeders should be to produce genetically healthier bulldogs. That are able to whelp naturally, and breath freely.
